Carinthian Gallery of Fine arts is located in the buliding where the city hall used to be. The inside yard id decorated with arcades and sends the message that the building is older than the fasade and was lower in the older days. The politics of its exhibitions considers important artists of different art directions as well as the emphasis of international exhibitions conected to United Nations. It accepts the afirmation of home artists and all artists in the Koroška region. Special attention are getting the artist that live in Slovenj Gradec, for example Bogdan Bočič, Franc Berhtold, Naca Rojnik, Rade Nikolič and others. The Gallery was observing the path of the painter Jože Tisnikar, who found the way in art with his originality and authenticness. The uniqeness of his appeareance bacame the "logo" of the town Slovenj Gradec and its culture, the same as "Uršlja gora" like the painter Karel Pečko imagined it. The Gallery also takes care of all artistic heritage in Koroška region.
During the week, the Gallery is open from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 a.m. to 13.00 a.m. and from 14.00 p.m. to 18.00 p.m. On Mondays they are closed.
